There are many reasons to go to Chinatown in Singapore (for me, it's food) but one of them is the wonderful murals, predominately by artist Yip Yew Chong.
They illustrate the history of the building they adorn, bringing a glimpse of the past to the present.
In true Singapore style, they offer a spot for interactive photographs too.
A good map of the works can be found here.
So if heading down to Chinatown for lunch or shopping, make sure you take to the streets to take in the art and history of the area.
MRT Chinatown.

ReplyDeleteI tried for THREE days to leave a comment. Finally let Sami know and she told me to use flipcard. Each of these is stunning. I especially appreciate the different views and how each mural has its own take on food and tables. Just stunning murals, each and every one.
ReplyDeleteSorry about that. I've no idea how to fix it. Well spotted re the food. Singapore is ALL about food. When we go, I spend a lot of time researching where to eat, and what to eat!
