Overnight Adventures - Kiama in pictures

We had arranged to meet friends for a weekend away, but due to school commitments, it ended up that we arrived for dinner on Saturday night, then spent the day at Jamberoo before heading home.

While we had a great time, and returned to Sydney happy and relaxed, and with a feeling of camaraderie that gets lost sometimes in the busy family life, I don't think I organised the best trip I could have, nor do I have any recommendations.

So while an easy and enjoyable escape, this is a pictorial only. The upside of water parks is everyone, including the teenagers, have to put their phones away for the day. The downside is there are no photos for my blog. Yet a sacrifice that was well worth it.

Kiama is an hour and forty five minutes from Sydney and twelve minutes from Jambaroo. I'd also recommend booking a restaurant for Saturday night, especially if there are nine of you.

  1. I took a day trip down to Gerringong and Kiama a few years ago and it was stunning. I loved the rock pools around the blowhole in Kiama and 7 mile beach just past Gerringong was breathtaking. It's so peaceful around there, I'd love to go back.

  9. Kiama was always one of my favourite places when I lived in Sydney many years ago. I was in Navy Transport & would do a lot of bus & truck trips down to the Naval Air Base at Nowra. Always loved driving through Kiama as it's such a beautiful little town. My 3 adult children all presently live at Nowra

  12. I didn't know that Jamberoo existed when my boys were little. They would have loved it. Did you go out to the blowhole? I have about a million photos of it trying to get the perfect shot of water gushing up.

  14. Haha.. When I go to a waterpark, I spend the first hour of so taking photos before leaving the camera in the locker for the rest of the day. I cannot live with having no photos!
