Until April 2018, you can head to the Powerhouse museum in Ultimo (a short walk from Darling Harbour for the tourists) and see a sweet exhibtion on the history of Australian Wedding Fashion. Starting in the 1850's and moving through the traditions and fashions until those gowns of the modern celebrities, like Nicole Kidman's. It's a sweet exhibition.
There's a children's craft table with cut out dolls to design your own wedding dress or a card where you draw or describe what 'Love is...". On display it was fitting to see a lot of your children supporting the 'YES' vote, given our current postal survey that will reach our doors soon. The exhibition is free with the museum entry.
However, to add to the atmosphere, the Powerhouse is offering High Tea in conjunction with this exhibition. If you purchase the high tea, you also have free entry to the exhibition. During the week, the high tea is served 11am-12.30, but on weekends there are two sittings, 11am-12.30 and also 2pm -3.30pm.
Sandwiches, scones and little cakes are served on a three tiered stand with champagne or sparkling rose and tea or coffee. It's a charming way to spend an afternoon with friends.
MAAS Member: $38.50 with sparkling rose or $45.00 with champagne.
MAAS Member Child under 12:$27
MAAS Member Child under 12:$27
Children under 4 are free.
