We were pushed for time, with only five nights in Thailand so organised a transfer straight from the airport to the Marina to catch the boat to the resort. If you are arriving at night, you will need to pay for a private transfer, but it is simple and we were at the resort before 11pm.
The island of Yao Noi is small, with a population of only 4500. It is equidistant from Krabi and Phuket, and as we'd already stayed on Phi Phi, I thought it would be a good base for diving and boat trips. It was.
The resort is villa style, with a pool and our 2 bedroom villa had both an indoor and outdoor shower. The bedroom opened entirely, which during the heat of the day was delightful to read on the daybed.
The bath had prime views too.
The gardens of this resort are stunning and well thought out. While you could be buggied to any location, I often chose to walk, as the scenery was so delightful. Interestingly, the kids also wanted to walk.
The resort has 2 beaches and a pool with a literally breathtaking view. Without fail, every time we arrived at the hilltop and saw the stunning outcrops on the horizon, I'd be overwhelmed by the beauty.
There are a number of dining options but my favourite was the bar. The food is good, as are the drinks, but the view at sunset is sublime.

One of the charming aspects of the resort is the organic egg farm Guests have a basket in their room and can collect eggs for breakfast.
The spa is a little village unto itself, and along with the treatments there is the sauna and steam room villa that you can book out.
Free entertainment includes movies on the beach, a number of opportunities to hear traditional Thai music performed live with Thai dancers as well as kayaks and morning yoga. My kids were very taken with the Thai kickboxing ring, and any trip to the sports beach involved some wrestling in the ring (which I was less fond of).
I finally got to try flying yoga - which was a lot of fun except quite a challenge to my co-ordination, so I probably laughed a little too much for the inner peace aspect, but it's a delightful experience in the cool breezy pavilion.
There's something so relaxing and yet refreshing about spending so much time in the fresh air, even during the rainy season. The resort makes the most of it's location and the natural beauty available to it.
This resort is perfect for a luxurious few days if you are travelling between Phuket and Phi Phi or Krabi. It's not a cheap beach getaway but it is paradise.
