The Great Madras - in pictures

In the heart of Little India in Singapore is a funky new hotel that's taking Instagram by storm. Touted as a Wes Anderson dream, this little hostel is certainly pleasing to the eye. We went for lunch only to be told they only served hotel guests and a fashion shoot had taken over the ground floor (so excuse the piles of clothes and cosmetics in the photos!).

There's a cute little glass barber shop in the foyer to stay hipster sharp!

Messy models!

The library is stocked with tongue in cheek entertaining reads.

The pool is super cute, with retro Miami pink and neon signs as well as quirky comments to catch the eye!

It's a short walk from Hadji Lane and the Sultan Mosque so the location is great.

Next visit to Singapore I'll be back to stay for at least one night to try the tasty tapas on offer.

As the stairs to the pool say, it's for happy peeps only!

  6. Omg this place looks right up my alley! I can definitely see where people compare it to 'wes anderson vibes'. I never would have heard of this place, but now it will definitely be the place I book whenever I go to Singapore!

  7. Sounds like a great place to stay, Lydia, and with a lot more character than the ultra-modern hotels down on th ewaterfront or Orchard Rd.
Thanks for taking part in the Travel Tuesday meme.
