This is the post I made last year. Dark Specturm this year runs until 15 June. Tickets here.Tickets here.
New to VIVID this year is a journey below Wynard through unused train tunnels. Part of the planned Northern Beaches route (been talked about since 1932...) that never went anywhere. You thread through 8 different rooms and tunnels, each themed and set to music. While entrance is timed and in a group, there is plenty of space to move freely in.
They said the Tunnels were open to the public for the first time but I had the feeling I'd been in them when they were a car park...I remember racing back to my car and saying that we were walking to North Sydney given we'd walked so far....
I really enjoyed it. The expereince tapped into that euphoria I had at Tiesto, so I'm not sure if it was just the trigger for me or if it's built into the exhibition. I found it uplifting and delightful. I enjoyed being enveloped in light and sound, and the joyful anticipation for surprise as we moved into the next room.
Tickets start at $40 or $130 for a family of 4 (but children 5 and under aren't permitted, and neither are strollers).
Running until 17th June. 12pm - 9.15 pm
