We finished our week in Bora Bora, the tiny island in French Polynesia at the Four Seasons in an overwater bungalow.
The costs were a major splurge for us so only two nights were spent there but it was enough to explore the resort and activities and enjoy the marvellous view.
The bungalows are very spacious, so there's plenty of room to relax if the weather doesn't go your way. The rain comes and goes quickly in January.
A separate living room and bathroom, and small cutaways into the floor for lucky fish sightings.
The balcony leading down to the water for easy swimming, and with a shower to rinse off in, is the highlight of the overwater bungalows.

The grounds are beautifully maintained, and at night light up with fire torches and glowing lights.
Plenty of free activities on the water to keep you busy.
While I was a little underwhelmed with the sushi bar, the fine dining restaurant was excellent, with an impressive wine list to match. The beach bar restaurant for lunch is a great spot making the most of the beach location.
The Four Seasons is a 15 minute boat ride from the airport, and is located on the north eastern side of the outer reef on an islet. If looking to stay in Bora Bora, make sure you split your accommodation to experience different locations and nationalities of resorts.
