Lightscape is back for VIVID and runs until 15 June. Tickets hereTickets here. This is the post I wrote last year.

Readers of my other blog will know that I had tickets to see Lightscape in Melbourne, which i had to cancel not once, but twice! I was thrilled to see it coming to Sydney for VIVID but given I'd already given away two tickets, I decided not to purchase until i knew I could go. Which was good as I got COVID and missed most of VIVID....Luckily for me, Lightscape is running until the end of the school hol;idays - July 17.

I purchased my ticket on the train into town and knew I had good weather and wouldn't be giving yet another ticket away!

Lightscape is a multi-sensory experience of light, colour and sound using the canopies, waterways and city backdrops of the Botanic Gardens. It's very beautiful and with the music, an uplifting expereince.

There is a food 'village' near the entrance, and it's worth stopping. Our local, now closed, was there as a market stall so if you like Malaysian, head to Sharon's Kitchen, tucked away near the bar.

Further into the installations is dessert - ice cream and marshmellows to toast over fire.

The night I went, there was hardly any people so it was pleasant compared to dealing with the crowds of VIVID, and easy to navigate with children or prams. It took me about 90 minutes to explore Lightscape.

Botanic House is open if you want to make a night of it and have a restaurant dinner, or even just over look the dazzling lights without actually exploring close up.

If you are after something for all ages these holidays, this is a fabulously delightful experience, running Wednesday to Sunday.

ReplyDeleteThese are just beautiful - I'd love to be able to wander in amongst them all. I couldn't resist popping over when I saw your photo on Natalie's link party. Thanks for sharing them.
